Donate your old equipment to a Haitian Child

Posted by anonymous on May 3, 2010 at 12:19 PM Comments comments (0)

Hello Everybody!

I am really happy to see that so many of you are supporting our action for Haiti. So far we have collected about 1,000 pieces of badminton equipment including shirts, shoes, shorts, shuttlecocks, etc and over 250 rackets…. Actually, I have already 10 big boxes of equipment at my place, ready to be sent.

We plan to send a first shipment to the Haiti Olympic Committee before the beginning of June, and to start Badminton activities for kids living in survivor camps around Port au Prince before the end of June. FYI - 50,000 kids are involved in the program, the task is HUGE!

So thank you so much for all your support, it really, really helps.

Most important: don’t forget that if you have equipment that you do not use anymore, like rackets, shuttlecocks, or items of clothing, you can donate it to the project!

Just pack it up and send it to my attention at:

Østerbrogade 218 , 2tv , 2100 Copenhagen Ø - Denmark

We will forward it to Haiti. You equipment will make the kids out there happy by giving them a chance to play a great sport and find some new sense in their daily lives.

Obviously, if you’re still using your equipment and you’d prefer to make a financial donation, feel free to send me an email at kavehmehrabi@yahoo.com.

I will let you know how to proceed. Finally, I will post pictures of this project regularly on this page, especially when your rackets arrive in Haiti.

also if you follow this link you can see a short clip about the project with Peace and Sport and my involment with it:

hello every body,

hope you are all doing well. it has been a long time since last time I updated my blog in my website.

the Danish TV has made a 3 minutes clip from me and will be shown on the Danish TV (TV2 Sport) on Thursday the 22nd of April at 18:45 Danish time. it's a small program about me and my involvement with a NGO called ''Peace and Sport''

After my mother was diagnosed with Cancer for the Second time last October my life has changed a lot. of course this news has effected our famile. to be honest I really needed some time alone to deal with a lot of emotional. My mother is still fighting with the cancer and she is under the second term of Chemo therapy.

I also would like to use this opportunity to thank all of you for your support during this hard time.

also I have started to be more involved with a Monaco based NGO, called ''Peace and Sport'', which is an UN official partner. it's a Honor for me to be part of such a organisation. currently I'm cooperation with Peace and Sport for a Haiti Project and I will go to Haiti in June for a badminton project for the kids.

I promise you that I will try to keep you more updated by writing on my blog.

once again I really appreciate all your support.

Pray ......!!!!!! (please)

Hello every body,

hope you are doing well. you might be wondering why I have not been writting any thing on my blog the last couple of weeks.

as some of you might know and remember, 2 years ago , during the Olympic qualification my mother got cancer. she fought the cancer and after 6 months we got the good news that she is cancer free.

unfortunately we have just been informed by her doctors that she has got the cancer again and this time is very aggressive and it is spreding quickly. I am sure you can imagine how I feel.in a couple of days I will be flying to Iran to be on her side for her surgery and then she has to go through Chemo thrapy for at least couple of months, which is extreamly hard on the body.

some times the only thing we can do is praying to God and believing that he will take care of your love ones.

here,I would like to ask all of you to pray for my mother please and send posetive energy for her. I believe she can fight it again and I believe God wants her to fight it too.

God bless you all.

Hello every body,

I'm leaving tomorrow morning to Odense, where the Denmark Open is held.

because of the withdrawal of the Chinece national team, the organization of the Denmark Open decided to make a re-draw for the tournament.

On the new program, I'm schedule to play one of the best Swedish ''Mathias Wigardt''. he is actually the player that I was supposed to playe against 2 weeks ago at Bulgarian International but I had to withdraw due to my strong flu. of course I'm exited to play him because I have not played him before and I'm looking forward to my match. I will play tomorrow at 3:20p.m Local time.

you can see the program as well as the matches on live internet TV on this website:

Posted by anonymous on October 12, 2009 at 2:46 PM Comments comments (0)

Hello every body,

Hope you are doing well.

I'm very very happy to tell you all that I'm finaly well again.it took more than 2 weeks for me to get better because I had a very strong flu. My doctor told me that it was a tough virus that I had got. I'm still not 100% but the hard part in over and I feel stronger and stronger every day.

Since last Thursday I started practicing 2 times a day again and I feel my physical shape is improving every practice.

Draw for Danish Super series (Danish Open 2009)

as I had mentioned before my next tournament is Danish Super Series in Odense,Denmark.

the draw was published a few days ago and I will have to play one of the best dansih player in the first round of qualification. as you know the Super Series are the highes and toughest international tournaments after Olympic Games and World Championsip and only 28 players are in the main draw and 16 in the qualification draw. so even being able to participate in the qualification is not easy at all.

My match will be next Tuesday on the 20th of October at 5:20p.m Local time (central europ time).

if you are interested to have a look at the draw please foloowo this link:

No Bulgaria Interantional

Posted by anonymous on October 2, 2009 at 9:12 AM Comments comments (1)

Hello every body,

hope you are doing well.

Unfortunately I was forced to pull out from this week Bulgaria International.last Saturday when I was flying back yo Denmark from Czech International I could feel that I was getting sick.by the time I landed in Copenhagen I was already sick and having some fever! since Saturday I was not able to leave my bed and I was too sick to do any thing.!

I was supposed to fly to Sofia,Bulgaria on Wednesday(2 days ago) but I had to make a tough desicion and withdraw from the tournament due to my sicknece. It was not an easy decision because I was feeling very motivated to play but after all the reality is that I would have not been able to performe and gain any thing from the tournament. Today was the first day in 1 week that I could start training again but still not feeling 100% at all and feeling weak in my body due to a strong flu that I had for the past 6 days.!

next tournament for me the 2009 Danish Open Super Series which will be held from the 20th to 25th of October. I am very motivated to get back on top of my shape to get back on court and continue compitting on the International Tour.

  2016 Olympic city

as I'm sure most of you have heard from the news today the host city for 2016 will be nominataed by IOC. the 106 IOC members will vote from the 4 candidate cities (Chicago , Madrid , Tokyo , Rio de Janeiro). the IOC congerese is in Copenhagen :-)

it is crazy how many police are in town.it almost looks like a military base! of course it was tougher than normal because the USA president even came over to make an extra push for Chicago Olympic bid.

The Danish TV is covering the presentation of the host cities live and I'm watching it right now as I'm writing this update on my blog. I must admit it is pretty cool and moving what all the cities have to offer.

I'm very exited about this.my personal favourite is Chicago, I think it would be cool to have the Olympic in the USA again. and my second choice will be Tokyo.

the votting will start at 5p.m Central europe time and the result will be announced at 6:30p.m.

I'm looking forward to find out which city will win :-)

have a nice weekend

ups and downs !

Hello every body,

I'm writting from the airport in Brno,Czech republic, where I'm wating for my flight to go back to Denmark.

yes, I'm going back already on Saturday afternoon, which means I'm out of the tournament!even know I lost as early as the 2nd round I must admit that it was a good tournament for me.I had a very good win in the first round against Jamie Bonsels.I won the match 22:20 - 13:21 - 21:12 . more important than my win, I played very well. also it was a very important improvment in my game because I manage to do a lot of the things that I have been praticing and putting a lot of attention to. I really feel my game is improving and I'm finding a good balance in my game plan.!

in the second round I played a upcoming Danish player,Soren Graveholt, who upsets the 3rd seed and world nr.55 in the first round.I kne it would not be easy match because I could see he was having a good tournament.unfortunately I didn't played as well as my first round and lost 21:13 -12:21 - 21:19 . It was a very close match any way and a very challenege for me because he is a kind of player that it can be dificult to play against and even know I'm extreamly disapponited that I lost but there were many many posetive things in my game in that match. My mental is improving and I'm being more sharp with my shots as well.

well, after all I will take all the posetive things with me from this tournament and will keep on working hard and I'm sure the big results are coming soon :-)

next week I'm going to Bulgaria, where I will have to play one of the best Swedish player, Mattias Widtgard. he is a very very agressive player with a good attack so I must make sure I'm ready for it mentaly and physicaly.

if you are interested to can see the program and the draw of the tournament at the following link.

Hello every body,

hope you are all doing well.

The Danish club championship started from yesterday and I had my first official team match with my new club ''Lyngby''. I'm the head caoch for the club and at the same time I'm also playing for the club. so you can imagin there is lots pressure and reponsibility on my shoulder. Yesterday we had our first team match against ''Nivå Badminton Club''. we played on the home court and it was the perfect start of season for us. We beated them 12 -1 . it was an amazing performance and a perfect way to start the season. The next team match will be in 2 weeks time and it would against a much tougher and better club so we must prepare for them even more :-)

Czech International 2009

Also as you know I will participate at the 2009 Czech International this coming week.I will fly to Brno, Czech republic on Wednesday and will have my first match on Friday against Jamie Bonsels from England. I know his game and he has played against some of the other players from my training center so they can help me with some usefull information. I have been practicing very good since I got back from Belgium and I'm looking forward to the challenge.

you can find the program and the draw for the tournament under the folowing link:

Result from Belgian International

Posted by anonymous on September 5, 2009 at 11:19 AM Comments comments (0)

Hello very body,

hope you are doing well.

I'm writing from the Amesterday airport, where I'm waiting for my conection flight to Copenhagen. As you know I was in Belgium this weekend to played the 2009 Belgian international.

I played Kieran Merrilees from Scotland in the first round.I have to say he is a tough player to play against. he has a good offense and also takes lot of chances. so my tacktick was to make him work hard and wait for my chances. I lost the first set 21:16 . I was playing well but I just let him get away with a few easy points. in the second I picked up a good lead to 11:5 and really put him under pressure.I kept a good focus and beated him 21:14. he came back with all he had at the start of the third set and I was down at 11:8 but I unlike the first set didn't let him to get any easy points and got back to 13:13 and from there it was very close but I felt like I had a good control over the match and won 21:18 in the final set.

In the second round I played Christian Lind Thomsen from Denmark, who is one of top player from Denmark and one of the favourites to win the tournament. We practice together at the IBA so of course we know each other's game very well. I played well but I have to admit he was playing very well and making me work very hard and not giving any thing easy. I lost in 2 sets but even though score was only 21:12 - 21:10 I felt like we had a good match.

I'm pretty happy with my over all performance because it has been a long time since I played very well and WIN  such a close match as my first round against a good player.

It's a bit strenge because I had my knee problem after the world championship and I didn't know what to expect from this tournament and for sure there is lots of posetive thing for me from this tournament and I will take as much as I can to build my confidence for my next tournament , which in in more than 2 weeks time in Czech Republic.

I'm looking forward to have an east training tomorrow and then start my tough training on Monday and keep on working on my game :-)

wish you all the best

Kaveh :-)
